Galgenberg Gorge

Unterer Galgenbergweg 9
06118 Halle
Germany

The closing concert of the Handel Festival is traditionally held in the Galgenberg Gorge. Carved out by the exploitation of a porphyry quarry, this line of cliffs which rises to 25 metres lies to the north of the city of Halle. It is against this backdrop that 4,000 visitors listen to the sounds of the Fireworks Music by George Frideric Handel, accompanied by a giant fireworks display.
