With the Beatles and Wings, Paul McCartney wrote music history. What is less well-known is that he is also a lover of what is generally referred to as "classical” music.
Together with Carl Davis, he wrote an oratorio that, broadly, reflects Paul McCartney’s life. The work was first performed in 1991 in the city where Paul McCartney was born, Liverpool. For the first time, this splendid oratorio is to be performed in Halle as a concert organised jointly by Women in Jazz and the Handel Festival with the participation of more than 200 artists.
