Conservation Workshop
Conservation and restoration works on the instruments in the collections of the Stiftung
Händel-Haus are carried out in-house by the specialised conservation department. On top of that,
the conservators take active part in research projects, prepare period instruments for regular
concerts and are demanded as specialists and adisors far beyond the confines of Halle and Central
Germany.

Main topics are:
- structural analysis of instruments
- acoustics of instruments
- computer-aided methods of analysis
- influence of climatic fluctuations
The conference is part of the research project “Static Structural Analysis of Historic Pianofortes“ which is funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation (KUR, project no. 49). The conference is organised by the Stiftung Händel-Haus and the Institute for Structural Analysis of the Technische Universität Dresden.
